The ever-popular category of Napa Valley Cabernet keeps us on the hunt for new wines, new vintages and new projects to keep our clients excited and satisfied. This offer has a combination of tried & true names along with a couple of young guns. Starting off with a new vintage of Scattered Peaks, this sets a very high standard in the $29.99 pricepoint. We love the vibe of Vineyard. Mountain. Ocean. on this delicious bargain. Next, the Chappellet Mountain Cuvée is hands-down one of Napa Valley's greatest values for a very high quality Cab blend. Founder Donn Chappellet was a buddy of Robert Mondavi, both of them planted up on the Pritchard Hill in the late 1960's, and the classic Mondavi Napa Cabernet is next below at a sharp price.
The fourth wine is a big deal that is impossible to find out in the market : Dominus Othello. Made from fruit in the iconic Napanook vineyard, this has 96 points and a stunning personality that balances creamy, luscious fruit and bright, tannic tension. Lastly a client requested we track down Caterwaul Cabernet which Antonio Galloni exclaimed "might just be the finest wine in the market in its price range." Rockstar winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown of Schrader fame crafts this bold red that punches well above its price point.
Cheers! the Murray family

RATED 90 WINE ENTHUSIAST : 'Within a heavy bottle, this wine is thick and concentrated in plum, currant and generous oak; the tannins are present and firm. Spicy black pepper, clove and a hint of vanilla give it an edgy savory character that helps to balance the fruit.' Made by wine industry icon Derek Benham and legendary Napa Valley winemaker Joel Aiken, formerly of BV (Beaulieu Vineyards).

RATED 93+ BOTTLESHOP.COM : 'Tons of aromas leap from the glass with fleshy black cherry, cassis and red plum, as well as hints of vanilla oak, cardamom, mocha, and thyme. The ripe berry flavors are echoed on the richly textured palate where they mingle with notes of coffee and spices. Luscious and layered with balanced tannins and better than average acidity for the region. Drink or hold for up to 5 years.'

RATED 93 JEB DUNNUCK : 'The 8,000-case 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has to be one of the great values in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon out there. Classic darker currants, tobacco, chocolate, and some gravelly earth notes all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a round, supple, layered mouthfeel, and a great finish. It's more than worth it's going rate.' |
