Caparzo Collector's Edition 'La Casa' Brunello di Montalcion 3 Vintage Vertical Six Pack with 2 bottles of each of these vintages : 2000 / 2004 / 2011

Caparzo’s Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Vigna La Casa was first produced in the 1977 vintage before single vineyards were a popular method of producing wine in Montalcino. The la Casa vineyard is located on the famed Montosoli Hill, at an elevation of 275 meters, with galestro soils and excellent sun exposure. The grapes are harvested by hand. Malolactic is spontaneous at a controlled temp, and aging in wood for at least 2 years, and in bottle at least 4 months before release. This wine ultimately has an aging capacity of more than 35 years. The 2000 / 2004 / 2011 vintages create an exquisite six pack and such an opportunity to acquire older vintages. 

RATED 91 WINE SPECTATOR : 'This rich yet fresh version shows some muscle, exuding cherry, raspberry, loam and leather flavors. A healthy band of tannins renders the finish dense and tactile, while the fruit persists.' This is in essence a 'baby Brunello', made by an Italiana, the quality-driven Elizabetta Gnudi Angelini.

It is produced with grapes coming from three estates she owns in Tuscany : Caparzo, Borgo Scopeto, and Doga delle Clavule. The historical family crest perfectly epitomizes the three estates: three roses on a shield that stand for the three wine cellars.
