The vineyards of the Tiefenbrunner Castel Turmhof Estate Winery stand in the South Tyrolean Unterland ("lowlands") district on the famous wine route, one of the most beautiful wine growing areas in South Tyrol. The vines grow predominantly on the mountain slopes around Castle Turmhof in Entiklar, but also in the flatter areas of the lowland valley floor. The primarily southward-facing slopes and their loamy, chalk-rich soils provide a good basis for high quality wines. A Mediterranean climate - moderate rainfall and cooling evening winds - as well as great differences between day and night temperatures provide the ideal conditions for the ripening of the grapes; rich in extracts and potent in aroma, the grapes provide the wine with its unmistakable character.
