Fattoria del Cerro
As far as Lake Trasimeno and beyond Montepulciano from its vintage point of 600 meters above sea level dominats the entire surrounding area. It is set in some of the most beautiful Tuscan countryside, abounding with olive trees, cypresses and vineyards and it is the birth-place of one of the most time honored red wine: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, the flagship of Fattoria del Cerro.
The complete surface area of the Estate is 567 hectares from which 156 are devoted to wines. About 84 hectares of vineyards, mainly in the Argiano area, are official registered for the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
Made of 90% Prugnolo Gentile (also known as Sangiovese) and 10% Canaiolo Nero that spent two years in 70% cask and 30% smaller French oak barrels, this is classic Tuscan red from a traditional producer.
