Joseph Landron makes several muscadets, each one from grapes grown in a particular soil type. The lightest and freshest, Cuvee Amphibolite, is bottled without any chaptalization or filtration. Hard, rocky orthogneiss soils are used to produce the fatter Hermine d'Or, which carries the seal of approval of the society of the same name, and the old-vine Fief du Breuil wines. The Landrons also own Clos du Chateau de la Cariziere, where equally fine muscadet is produced.
