Château Gazin![]()
The Château Gazin vineyards in Pomerol which were once part of the famous Knights of Saint-John of Jerusalem property, occupy 64 acres next to Petrus and Château l'Evangile. Since 1917, it has been owned by the de Bailliencourt dit Courcol family.
The vines are : Merlot 90%, Cabernet Franc 3%, Cabernet Sauvignon 7%.
The wine is aged in oak barrels. It is clarified with egg whites and slightly filtered if necessary.
Château Gazin's production may reach 100 000 bottles. The winery also has a second appellation Pomerol, l'Hospitalet de Gazin, reserving the best of each year's harvest for its top quality Château Gazin.
The Château Gazin is a member of the Union of the Great Growths of Bordeaux and of the Academy of Wines of Bordeaux.
