Bodegas Emilio Moro![]()
The origins and philosophy of Bodegas Emilio Moro are enshrined in two generations of the family. The father of Don Emilio, a man of great taste and an exquisite palate, accompanied by his son, then a child just 14 years old, would take the production of his vineyard, perhaps 5 or 10 thosand litres and sell it trouhout the Ribera Region, often to Vega Sicilia, travelling by boat along the river from Valbuena. This was 50 yeras ago, and so it continued, until D. Emilio Moro, in the deep tradition of his father and totally embracing the philosophy wich was to became the family motto "To make good wine, to make the best wine or not be involved" decided to build his own Bodega. If others were making wine and selling it to the marketplace for others to commercialise, why should be not sell his wines under his own name, when they were as good as, if not better than the rest. It was not a matter of bussiness, but a question of pride. Pride in his father and of the land, the wine and its grapes.
So, Don Emilio, driven by his father“s teachings, came to agreements with other growers for the supply of grapes, in the exceptional vintage of 1988, produced the first bottles of wine bearing his own name and the quality seal of origin.
