Beau Vigne Juliet Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
|
|
BN#208979 |
If you like the Prisoner you will love Napa's Beau Vigne...made by the same winemaker, this Napa Cab has gobs of plush, sweet Napa fruit with no hard edges. The finish is long and voluminous. It is similar in style to wines like Lewis, Plumpjack, Paul Hobbs, Silver Oak and Ramey. The 'Juliet' is approximately 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.
Dave Phinney is a hot new California winemaker. He makes Mercury Head, The Prisoner, Beau Vigne amongst others. He is a rising star who was trained at Opus One and at Whitehall Lane. He has the background necessary to develop Beau Vigne’s French Clone 337 into a big complex Cabernet. Dave was voted winemaker of the year by Dean and Deluca and is receiving a lot of attention for his winemaking.
After a handful of great tastings, Robert Parker summed up Beau Vigne : "I need to spend more time checking out these wines!" Robert Parker
