St. Innocent Zenith Vineyard Pinot Noir 2008

In April 2006, St. Innocent purchased an interest in Zenith Vineyard (formerly O'Connor Vineyards) in the Eola-Amity Hills of the northern Willamette Valley. The vineyard is owned by St. Innocent and Tim & Kari Ramey, who purchased the property in 2002. All of St. Innocent's Pinot Noirs are produced in a style to first reveal the nuances of their terroir. Working in the vineyard with individual growers, they fine tune the viticultural practices with the goal of achieving a balance between the canopy and fruit. Most of the vineyards are grown in a sustainable way and qualify for LIVE certification.
Wine Spectator
Tangy, vibrant and many-layered, this feels dense without extra weight. The mineral, spice and dry earth notes compete for attention with blackberry and black olive flavors, finishing with impressive persistence. Best from 2013 through 2020.
Score: 93.

Wine Advocate
The 2008 Pinot Noir Zenith Vineyard offers up a brighter perfume with plenty of spice notes, incense, cherry blossom, and an amalgam of red and black fruits. On the palate it reveals an elegant personality with a bit more volume than the Temperance Hill cuvee. Velvet-textured, nicely balanced, and lengthy, it has the structure to evolve for 2-3 years and will deliver prime drinking from 2013 to 2023.
Score: 91.
