Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
|
Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, blended in 50% new and 50% once-used American oak barrels, and aged in barrel for approximately 25 months and another 15 months in bottle, this Cab is harmonious, smooth and supple. Look for black cherry, clove, cinnamon, lavender and licorice on the nose with a solid core of berry fruit, velvety tannins and excellent length on the palate. With proper cellaring it should give drinking pleasure through 2025.
In 1972, Silver Oak’s Alexander Valley vineyards produced the harvest that would become their first Cabernet Sauvignon. Seven years later, they harvested the grapes for their first Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which is now produced as a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals.
