I gleefully drank many, many glasses of this dry, elegant, impeccably made Champagne while working for Wildman, and I am continuing the tradition here at the Bottle Shop! I always love the taste & style of Pol Roger non-vintage, and apparently so does Robert Parker, who calls it his favorite N.V. Made of 33% Pinot Meunier, 33% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay, Pol Roger is one of a few luxury Champagne firms which is still family-owned, and was established in Epernay in 1849.
Serve as an aperitif, or with fresh seafood, especially oysters or pan-seared scallops. We also enjoy good Champagne with all things fried, like Calamari (but hold the red sauce!). Fried shrimp are also a perfect companion...
