Pascual Toso Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
This is great wine and we just think that anyone who loves California Cab’s and/or Aussie reds should be running to buy this wine - by the case! Look for ultra sultry raspberry ripeness in the nose with suave, yet balanced cherries and sweet mocha in the mouth. Aged in small oak barrels for 12 months, the wine also has complexities of vanilla, black pepper, coffee and mint. And best of all, the wine is balanced, so the fruit, the acid and the tannin meld harmoniously... this is also a single vineyard wine, from Barrancas Vineyard in the Maipu Province of Mendoza, one of the prime wine producing areas of Argentina. Paul Hobbs is the consulting winemaker.
Wine Advocate
The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva was aged for 12 months in new oak, 80% American and 20% French. The nose is dominated by cedary oak aromas but there are also attractive notes of boysenberry, red currant, and black raspberry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with excellent depth and plenty of red and black fruit flavors. There is enough well concealed tannin to support 3-5 years of further development in the bottle.

Wine Spectator
This is quite ripe, with velvety textured raspberry and dark plum fruit layered with notes of mocha and milk chocolate. The fleshy, smoky finish is very fan-friendly. Drink now through 2009.
