'Scavino is a master of Barolo. Enrico Scavino and his two daughters, Enrica and Elisa, continue to produce outstanding Barolos year in and year out.' -- The Wine Spectator
Enrico Scavino has been at the forefront of the modernist movement in Piedmont since the 1980s, and is today one of the most respected and highly regarded winemakers in all of Italy. Scavino diverged from the traditional style of Barolo to produce soft and lush wines that are delicious within months of release as well as later in their evolution.
'Scavino and his daughters are fashioning riveting wines at their cellars in Castiglione
Falletto.' -Robert Parker, Jr.
Wine Advocate
Scavino’s 2004 Barolo Cannubi is an imposing effort. It possesses a lovely inner perfume with layers of ripe fruit, menthol and spices that caress the palate, showing superb grace and purity. The tannins are sweet, ripe and round, adding to the wine’s stylish, elegant personality. This is a surprisingly big Cannubi from Scavino. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.
Score: 94.

Wine Spectator
Blackberry and fresh violet aromas follow through to a full body, with a solid core of cool fruit and firm yet polished tannins. Racy and tight. Best after 2011. 300 cases made.
Score: 93.
