Mocali Brunello di Montalcino Vigna delle Raunate 2001
Wine Spectator
Amazing fresh fruit in this wine with masses of crushed raspberry, as well as vanilla cream. Full-bodied, with big velvety tannins and a long, berry-filled finish. Layered. Big and juicy. Give it time. Best after 2009.
Score: 93.

Wine Advocate
The single-vineyard 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna delle Raunate is darker and weightier than the normal bottling, with powerful suggestions of scorched earth and tar on the nose followed by plenty of dark, backward fruit interwoven with toasted oak and chocolate flavors. It shows greater concentration and length on the palate in a more modern and authoritative style. My guess is that it has the stuffing to last a little longer than the Brunello and it will require some cellaring to absorb the oak that is present today. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2021.
Score: 91.

Wine Enthusiast
Dark ruby with purplish highlights, this wine boasts bold cherry, forest berry, fennel, dried tobacco, tealeaf, soil and generous cola notes. Full and richly textured in the mouth, the tannins are soft and limber with decent length.
