Luciano Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne 2000
Wine Spectator
Boy, this is beautiful to smell! Fresh-picked strawberries and cherries, with just the right amount of cloves. Hints of prunes. Full-bodied, with soft and round tannins and a long fresh-fruit finish. Goes on and on. Hard not to drink this. This is a blend taken from various sites in the Barolo and Monforte d'Alba areas. Best after 2005.
Score: 95.

Wine Advocate
The 2000 Barolo Le Vigne is structured, powerful on the nose with notes of licorice, tar, and macerated cherries, dense and solid in flavor, more muscular than usual and slightly tough on the finish. Time may help these tannins, and the wine can best be drunk between 2006 and 2018.

Medium red. Perfumed, expansive nose offers subtle red fruits, licorice, menthol and spices. Lush, sweet, full and mellow, with a dominant flavor of strawberry. Rich and seamless in the style of the vintage's best examples, without loss of definition or freshness. Finishes suave and sweet, with very fine tannins and lovely persistence.
