Made from Jadot's own holdings, this Grand Cru Pinot Noir has dark berry and earthy aromas with dense and powerful flavors. It has an almost thick mouthfeel that culminates in a delicious, complex and youthful finish with excellent length. The commune of Vougeot is in the center of the Côte de Nuits, flanked on the north by Chambolle-Musigny and on the south by Flagey-Echézeaux and Vosne-Romanée. Its vineyards cover only 155 acres, and are unique in that the sole grand cru vineyard, the largest single vineyard in the Côte d'Or, occupies 124 of these, leaving 31 acres under Vougeot's four premier cru vineyards and 12 acres in Vougeot village. This grand cru is the walled vineyard of Clos Vougeot.
Wine Advocate
The Jadot 2006 Clos Vougeot – one lot of which was parked in tank for nearly six months while waiting for the other to finally undergo malo – exhibits an unusually dark color for its collection; offers a polished, rich, velvet-textured melange of lightly-cooked black fruits underlain by roasted red meats; and finishes sedately but with memorable savor and length. Lardiere's fears that the wine might end up disjointed have thus proven unfounded, and I suspect that this classic example of top-notch Clos Vougeot will be worth following over the next decade. And since there are a thousand cases of it, quite a few wine lovers can share that experience.

This ripe, smooth version is laced with black currant and cassis, with a solid structure underneath. Needs to resolve the tannins, so give this a few years of age. Just a little dry on the finish. Best from 2012 through 2022.

Musky redcurrant, cherry and roasted coffee aromas are lifted by pungent minerality and show a medicinal reserve. Suave and silky but quite penetrating, with ripe but classically dry flavors framed by vibrant minerality. Broadens out impressively on the back half, finishing with superb energy, structure and perfume. Classic, austere Clos Vougeot with a long life ahead of it. 92+

Burghound
A very earthy mix of medium and lower register dark berry fruit aromas framed in obvious wood introduces dense, powerful and serious big-bodied flavors replete with taut muscle and a textured, indeed almost thick mouth feel that culminate in a delicious, complex and youthfully austere finish of excellent length. For the patient.
