This delightful little dry South African white is made of a blend of 54% Viognier, 40% Grenache Blanc and 6% Roussanne. 2009 is the first appearance of the Roussanne and the winemaker is very pleased with the results. As is typical for the grape, the Viognier provides the alluring floral and spice components. Look for aromas of peaches, pears, flowers and spices, followed by more of the same in the mouth with a juicy hint of honeysuckle on the finish. Serve as an aperitif, or with all kinds of seafood, including sushi, or try with creamy and/or sheep’s milk cheeses topped with apricot or quince fruit spreads.
