Donnhoff Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spätlese 2004
 |
|
BN#166099 |
Spectacular Riesling here from the town of Norheim and the vineyard Kirscheck in the region of Nahe. Donnhoff has a cult following for his concentrated, terroir-driven wines, and with a miniscule 6,700 cases total production of all of his wines combined, it's not easy to find a beauty like this from the 2004 vintage. Hurry, we only have bottles left in stock...
Wine Advocate
The 2004 Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spatlese offers a gorgeous aroma of honeysuckle, lime, cherry, and sweet florality, followed by a billowing, wafting array of similar ilk on a palate of utmost depth and polish. A finish featuring distilled cherry essence, flowers, smoky pungency and savory saltiness and shrimp shell minerality lays on the layers of flavor and clings like crazy. This extraordinary wine should be able to stand its ground in the company of the estate’s best at any time over the next two decades.
Score: 95.
