Domaine Serene Evanstad Reserve Pinot Noir 2005

BN#235267 |
Ken & Grace Evenstad came to Oregon in 1989 with a passion for Pinot! The intense purity of fruit that comes from this area of Oregon was the driving factor for the establishment of Domaine Serene in the Northern Willamette Valley. In 2003 and 2004, Domaine Serene was named "Estate Winery of the Year" by Wine and Spirits magazine, and in various competitions, has scored ahead of both California Pinots and high end Red Burgundy. This Reserve offering is a blend of Pommard, Wadenswil and Dijon clones sourced primarily from estate vineyards in the Dundee Hills and Eola Hills, and was cropped at an extremely low 1.85 tons/acre. Aged 16 months in French oak barrels, 71% new.

Lithe in texture, with a distinctive range of red cherry, black cherry, cinnamon and mocha flavors that ride smoothly over a graceful frame, lingering nicely on the clear, expressive finish. Drink now through 2015. 6,500 cases made. –HS
