Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir 2005
Another great success from Veronique Drouhin-Boss from an outstanding Oregon Pinot Noir vintage. Built on larger shoulders than the previous vintage 2004, this is a deep wine with an expressive nose of lilac and violet blossoms, and a wild array of red and black fruits, white pepper, clove and orange peel. These aromas lead to supple, velvety fruit in the mouth. The body is rich and the finish long and silky, suggesting a minimum aging of 7 years.
Wine Advocate
The entry level 2005 Pinot Noir is produced from 95% estate fruit. Medium ruby-colored, it has a fragrant bouquet of raspberry and black cherry. Medium-bodied, it has a lithe texture, a broad band of spicy, sweet red fruits, excellent balance and a pure finish. Drink it over the next 8-10 years. Domaine Drouhin has been on a roll since the 2002 vintage. Dare I say it, the winery seems to be making better wine in Oregon than they are in France.

Wine Spectator
Crisp and lively, with juicy cherry and raspberry flavors under a veil of fine, peppery tannins, lingering on the light finish. Drink now through 2013. 8,988 cases made.
