Ash Hollow Nine Mile 2006
|
This is a great value from a boutique winery in Walla Walla Valley in Washington State. Ash Hollow is located at the same 46 degrees north latitude as the Bordeaux region in France and has the same red varietals planted as they do in Bordeaux. The estate believes that the best wines are ‘made in the vineyard’, so a traditional, minimal interventionist approach reigns here. Every wine we have tasted from Ash Hollow has been exceptional in its category. Named in honor of the hill upon which the vineyard sits, Nine Mile is made of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This estate bottled bargain has lovely black cherry, rose petal, plum and cocoa complexities with a long, delicious, silky finish. Serve with chicken, beef or lamb dishes, or with cheeses and pâté.
