Portugal's Port Wines
When one thinks of Portughese wines, one tends to think of Port. Porto, as the Portuguese call it, is the lusty, dark sweet red wine fortified with brandy during fermentation, which is high in alcohol and served after dinner. The wine is ripe and sweet yet can also be dry, and is served after the main course with English Stilton blue cheese or dark, delicious chocolate.
