This vines for this Grand Cru consist of 45 year old vines from 2 different climats, 90% of which is in Les Poulaillères and the other 10% is in Clos St. Denis. Co-director Aubert de Villaine speaks of the vintage: 'Overall, I quite like the 2004 vintage because it so faithfully reflects the underlying terroir and has produced classically structured, pure and elegant wines. I also believe the 2004s will surprise a lot of people as to how well they will age.'
Wine Enthusiast
Pure, fine fruits along the line of raspberry and dark plums—there’s almost a dancing quality to this wine, with its freshness and lightness, with acidity and red currants giving the most delicate of finishing touches.
Score: 93.

Burghound
Deep ruby. A penetrating nose of moderately high-toned spicy black fruit trimmed in violets and floral notes that lead to supple but intense flavors that are rich and refined with excellent finishing energy and more refinement that I usually find here. I particularly like the fine balance and there is a sense of opulence here due to the heady spice notes.
Score: 89-92.
