Flowers Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2005
BN#192769 |
This cult favorite was aged for 11 months in 100% French oak, 35% of which was new. Fresh fruit aromas of cherry, and raspberry are followed by hints of violet, white pepper, mineral, and spice aromatics. This wine offers crisp acidity upon entry unfolding with flavors of black cherry, raspberry and hints of lavender. Tannins are supple creating a lingering finish with anise and notes of toast. Enjoy now or cellar up to 4 years.

The cool climate of the Flowers' family Sonoma vineyards suits the Pinot Noir grape so beautifully in this 2005 offering. Balance is key; you can taste the lovely ripeness of the fruit, which is not overshadowed by the oak treatment. Floral aromas and concentrated berry flavors are supported by good acidity, which will make food pairing a joy. Try at home with roasted salmon dishes simmered in dried cranberries or cherries and fresh herbs, or with tender baby lamb chops grilled with sea salt and olive oil.
