Villa Red is no longer labeled as a Chianti Classico because it is a different blend than allowed by the region of Chianti Classico. Made of 60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5% Syrah, this was aged in oak for 12 months, and then in bottle for eight. It is smooth, supple and elegant to drink. Always a crowd pleaser, the Antinori family is one of the oldest winemaking families (dynasties!) in the world, with over 600 years of winegrowing and winemaking.
