Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva 2004
Made of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Grenache, 10% Mazuelo and Graciano, this great Reserva was aged for 6 months in traditional large Rioja oak vats, and then 24 months in small oak barrels, with a minimum of 12 months in bottle before release. This wine continues to be one of the great Reserva Rioja wines at an affordable price. It manages to be both traditional and modern in style simultaneously, and it is a Bottle Shop favorite.
Wine Advocate
The 2004 Muga Reserva is dark ruby-colored with an enticing nose of pain grille, pencil lead, crushed stone, and blackberry. This leads to an elegant wine with layers of flavor, several years of aging potential, and a lengthy finish.
