Château Carignan Premières Côtes de Bordeaux Prima 2005
|
This château is an actual castle from the 15th century which is extremely well preserved. The current owner, Philippe Pieraerts, bought the property in 1981 and practices eco-friendly methods such as using natural fertilizer made from their own Limousin cows. In general the wines from here are well structured, with dark red fruits and spices, and their cuvee prestige, Prima, has been made since 1998.
Wine Spectator
Very pretty aromas of crushed fruit and flowers follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a firm finish.
Score: 89-91.
