Made by Tenuta Sette Ponti, this beauty is made of 90% Sangiovese & 10% Merlot from vines with an average age of 30 years. The estate lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, and Crognolo is named for a wild bush that grows there.

Lots of blackberry and hints of mineral follow through to a full-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a medium finish. Caressing and balanced. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best after 2007. 8,330 cases made. –JS
