Cavallotto’s 2005 Dolcetto d’Alba Vigna Scot exhibits a dark inky color along with a fleshy core of blue and black fruit, with excellent length on the palate and a slightly bitter note on the finish. It is a terrific, fully-flavored Dolcetto to enjoy now and over the next few years. In recent vintages this wine has emerged as one of the region’s top Dolcettos, as well as one of the estate’s most unique offerings. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2010.
