Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 1995

BN#124380 |
Porto, as the Portuguese call it, is the lusty, dark, sweet red wine fortified with brandy during fermentation. The wine is ripely sweet yet sometimes dry at the same time and is served after dinner. The English call it Port (named for the city of Oporto on northern Portugal’s Atlantic coast), and the English have been heavily involved in Port production since the late 1600s.
Wine Spectator
Outstanding but slightly rustic, with earthy, berry aromas and flavors and chunky, chewy texture. Full in body, medium sweet, with full tannins and a slightly coarse finish. Needs time. Best after 2007.
Score: 90.
